"Mobile Library" Created for Students in Daliang Mountains by Railways and Local Government

On April 16, the list of selections for the "2023 Most Beautiful Rural Public Cultural Space Exchange and Display Activities" was announced, and the application submitted by Sichuan Provincial Culture Center, Sichuan Provincial Library, and the Chengdu Passenger Transport Depot of CR-Chengdu, titled "'Yi Homeland Sentiments ？ Slow Train' National Art Popularization and Reading New Space," was selected as one of the "Top 60 Most Beautiful Rural Public Cultural Spaces (Innovative Cases)."
The "'Yi Homeland Sentiments ？ Slow Train' National Art Popularization and Reading New Space" is a carefully planned public cultural project. It utilizes the 5619/5620 and 5633/5634 pairs of public service "slow trains" on the Chengdu-Kunming Railway as carriers to create a high-quality, warm, and deep reading space for students and residents along the route.
In recent years, the Chengdu Passenger Transport Depot has tailored "learning carriages" for students in Daliang Mountains on the public service "slow trains," transforming them into "study cars" for local students by setting up reading corners, widening study desks, and taking other measures. Focusing on goals to support education, agriculture, and tourism, the railway authority has painted carriages and re-designed the passenger information and service standards labels, with themes integrating local design elements along the route and passenger characteristics of the public service "slow trains," creating a distinctive cultural atmosphere.
